What you need to know about getting a flu shot?

The most effective way to decrease complications and reduce the impact of the flu is to get a flu shot.  Health Canada recommends everyone 6 months and older should get the annual flu vaccine as soon as it is available because it takes about two weeks after your flu shot for the protective antibodies to develop in the body.  Pharmasave Glenbrook is able to immunize those 9 years of age and older.  Get your flu shot early to protect yourself before flu viruses begin spreading in your community.

With COVID-19 circulating in our communities, we will be taking necessary precautions to make sure both you and our staff are well protected during time spent in our pharmacy. For these safety reasons, the flu shot process will be a little different this year:

    • PREFERRED METHOD:  To schedule your appointment online, please click here
      • Booking online (using GOOGLE CHROME as your browser) is the preferred method as it reduces the amount of time needed in-store (as all forms are filled out online) – making it safer for everyone entering the store for their flu shot.
      • Option 2:  Call the store at  403-455-7227 to make an appointment for a flu shot.
• • • If you do NOT book online – you will be required to fill out a flu consent form prior to your appointment and bring it with you fully completed.

    • You will be screened for COVID-19 before your appointment and on the day of your appointment.
      • Staff and community members who aren’t feeling well, are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, have travelled the last 14 days, or have been in close contact with a person with confirmed COVID-19 will not be allowed to enter the pharmacy.
    • You will be required to wear a mask/face covering.
    • Pharmacists will wear appropriate protective gear.
    • Surfaces and high touch areas will be sanitized between appointments.

When you arrive the day of your flu shot appointment, park in front of the store and call the store at 403-455-7227 from your car letting us know you have arrived.  To maintain safety and social distancing, we will ask that each member of your family wait in the car in front of the store (exception:  children) until we call you to come in for your flu shot.
